How do I get Started in Psychotherapy Services?
Beginning Psychotherapy: A Gentle, Grounded Invitation
Starting therapy is an act of cuidado. This means care for your spirit, your story, and your future. Life gets messy for all of us, and you deserve a space where your experiences, culture, and values are honored with dignity.
1. Schedule a 15-Minute Consultation
This brief conversation helps us see whether we’re a good fit. You’re encouraged to ask about my training, my cultural identity, my values, and how I practice. You have every right to know who you’re inviting into your healing work.
2. Bring Your Questions, Your Story, and Your Hopes on our first session
You don’t need to arrive with everything sorted out. We begin by understanding your lived experiences, your cultural roots, your strengths, and the parts of life that feel heavy or tangled. We move at your pace, with collaboration and respect.
3. How I Work: A Simple Analogy
Think of your life as a home you’re shaping. You are the owner and visionary. I am the architect you have hired to help design it with intention. My role is to offer guidance grounded in ethics, evidence, and your values , ensuring what we build together is sturdy, meaningful, and truly yours.
What are the Different Types of Psychological Evaluations?
We offer a comprehensive, culturally responsive psychological assessment conducted by a licensed clinical psychologist. Evaluation types include:
Psychodiagnostic evaluation to clarify diagnosis and guide treatment for mood, anxiety, trauma related, and other psychological conditions..
Cognitive and intellectual assessment for questions of intellectual ability, giftedness, intellectual disability, and cognitive strengths and weaknesses.
Academic and psychoeducational assessment to identify specific learning disorders and support educational accommodations.
ADHD evaluation by using multiple informants and methods, because no single measure diagnoses ADHD.
Immigration psychological evaluations conducted at the request of immigration attorneys. These cannot guarantee any legal outcome. No legal outcome is ever guaranteed.
Understanding Psychological Evaluation Fees & Process:
Psychological testing involves substantially more professional time than the hours you spend in the office face-to-face.
The hourly evaluation fee applies to all professional time your evaluation requires, including face to face test administration, non-face-to-face scoring, non-face-to-face interpretation of results, non-face-to-face review of records and collateral information, non-face-to-face report writing, and a face-to-face feedback session.
Before your evaluation begins, you will receive a written estimate of the total number of hours your evaluation is expected to require and the estimated total cost, so that there are no surprises. If during the evaluation it becomes clear that additional hours are needed, this will be discussed with you before those hours are incurred. However, all these hours are based on estimates and may change depending on any legal and/or ethical consultation.

What Type of Payments & Medical Insurances do We Take?
We are currently in the process of becoming credentialed with several major insurance companies. Until credentialing is complete, the practice operates on a private pay (self pay) basis, and payment is due at the time of service.
If your insurance plan includes out of network mental health benefits, we can provide you with a detailed receipt, called a superbill, which you may submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined entirely by your insurance plan, and we cannot guarantee that any portion of the fee will be reimbursed.
