Where Your Calendar Meets Mine!
How Online Scheduling Works
To request an appointment, please contact us at dr.riverarodriguez@wavepathcare.com.
Please note that your online 15-minute consultation booking is a request, not a confirmed appointment. Scheduling technology does not always display availability accurately. If the time you selected conflicts with the actual schedule, a member of the WavePath Psychological Care, PLLC team will contact you to arrange an alternative date or time. Your appointment is confirmed only when you receive direct confirmation from our team.
We use SimplePractice for secure, HIPAA‑compliant telehealth sessions. You’ll receive a private link for each appointment, and you can join from any space where you feel safe and grounded. The platform is straightforward, and if anything feels confusing, I’ll guide you through it with patience and care. My goal is for our virtual time together to feel just as connected, culturally attuned, and supportive as meeting in person.
Response Time
The WavePath Psychological Care, PLLC team will contact you within approximately 48 to 72 business hours of your scheduling request. Requests submitted on weekends or holidays may require additional time, and responses in those cases may extend beyond the 48 to 72 hour window. We appreciate your patience.
Please do not include detailed personal or clinical information in the scheduling form or in messages sent through the scheduling system. Those details are best shared during your first phone call or intake appointment, after you have received our privacy and consent documents.
Submitting a scheduling request does not establish a professional relationship with WavePath Psychological Care, PLLC or with any of its clinicians, associates, staff, and any other members. A professional relationship begins only after the informed consent process is completed at your first appointment.
If You Are Experiencing an Emergency

Free 15 Minute Consultation
WavePath Psychological Care, PLLC offers a free 15 minute introductory consultation by phone or video to prospective clients. The purpose of this call is to help you decide whether this practice is the right fit for your needs. During the call, we can discuss the services you are looking for, how the practice works, fees and scheduling, and any questions you have about what to expect. The call is available in English or Spanish.
What this call is, and what it is not. The introductory consultation is an informational conversation, not a clinical service. No diagnosis will be made, no treatment or assessment will begin, and no clinical advice or recommendations will be provided during this call. For that reason, we ask that you keep the details you share general. There will be time for your full story once services begin, in a setting designed to hold it properly.
This call does not establish a professional relationship. Participating in an introductory consultation does not make you a client of WavePath Psychological Care, PLLC and does not establish a psychologist and client relationship with Dr. Rivera Rodríguez or the practice. A professional relationship is established only when you and the practice mutually agree to begin services and you complete the informed consent process at your first appointment. The practice is not able to accept every prospective client; if we are not the right fit for your needs, whether due to scheduling, scope of practice, or clinical considerations, we will do our best to offer you referrals to other providers or resources.
Confidentiality. Although the introductory consultation does not establish a professional relationship, the information you share with us is treated as confidential. WavePath Psychological Care, PLLC handles all information from prospective clients in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act. Your information will not be shared with anyone outside the practice except as required or permitted by law. Please be aware that certain legal limits to confidentiality exist even during an introductory call. These include situations involving suspected abuse or neglect of a child, an elderly person, or a person with disabilities, which Illinois law requires us to report, and situations involving a serious threat of harm to yourself or another person. A complete description of confidentiality and its limits is provided in the informed consent documents you will receive before beginning services.
Records. A brief record of your inquiry, limited to contact information and the general nature of your request, may be retained and is protected in the same manner as all practice records. If you decide not to begin services, or if the practice is unable to accept you as a client, this information remains confidential and is retained and destroyed in accordance with the practice's records policy.
This 15 minute consultation call is not for emergencies and/or urgencies. The introductory consultation is scheduled in advance and is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health or medical emergency, call 911, or call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (para español, marque 988 y presione 2, o envíe AYUDA al 988).
